Terms and Conditions

 

Once an online, written or verbal booking has been accepted by Wellness with Shakira, the client will have entered into an agreement to have a treatment, course or retreat based on the following terms and conditions.

  • Payment - We respectfully ask that clients make payment via online payment, bank transfer, or cash, before or the time of treatment, thank you. Non payment will result in no treatment. If paying online please use your name as reference.
     

  • Cancellations - A minimum of 24 hours notice is required from the start of a client's treatment appointment time if a change or cancellation is to be made to the appointment time or date and a charge not incurred. Payment for each treatment is required in full if the session is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or the client fails to attend.
     

  • Discretionary waiver of charges for missed/ changed appointments - Changing or rebooking an appointment, for no extra charge, within 24 hours of the appointment date and time, is discretionary and will only be undertaken for emergencies.
     

  • Late arrival  - If late for an appointment, your therapist will attempt to offer the best possible service within the time left, however the appointment will end at the agreed time with no adjustment to the fee.
     

  • Prices - Treatments and the prices listed are subject to change without prior notification.
     

  • Refusing to treat - We have the right to refuse or discontinue a treatment at any point.
    Circumstances where this may apply include, but are not limited to:

    • The client is under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs

    • Recent surgery

    • The client behaves in an inappropriate or offensive manner

    • The client is or becomes unwell e.g. fever, digestive upset, allergic reaction, seizure, fainting

    • A client is under care for a medical issue that is a contraindication for therapy, this will be discussed during consultation

    • Where GP consent is required

    • ​COVID restrictions 
       

  • Children or under 18's - I do not offer treatments for children or individuals under the age of 18. 
     

  • Medical Issues - Treatments conducted by Wellness with Shakira are not a substitute for proper medical diagnosis and treatment. At no time will a client be encouraged to stop medical treatment or reduce or change their prescription drugs without prior discussion with a GP or consultant first. It is also the client’s responsibility to consult with their GP and get approval before any treatments can commence.
     

  • Personal Information - During a client’s treatment consultation we will need to collect personal information which is important for our client-therapist relationship and will be used to tailor treatments. This information is strictly confidential. We will maintain its accuracy by updating it as advised by the client.
     

  • Sensitive Information - We may at times address specific personal issues, challenges or general conditions in a client’s life or profession. All information provided will be kept strictly confidential with the exception of any information which, if withheld, may result in danger to the client or others.

This privacy statement documents how Wellness with Shakira complies with GDPR requirements. It applies to the website and booking system. We may change this privacy statement from time to time, therefore, please continue to check this page to ensure you are happy with any changes.

​We may collect the following information:

  • For bookings we may collect (name, telephone, mail and e-mail addresses).

  • Upon a consultation, we may also ask you to provide us with information regarding your personal or professional interests, lifestyle, health conditions and wellbeing – this is to ensure we deliver the best service to you – this information will not be disclosed or used for any marketing purposes.

  • Treatment plan - we may record feedback from sessions.


We will store the information you give us securely, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation.

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal customer record management.

  • To improve our products and services.

  • We may also follow up, either by e-mail, phone or mail, to people who have received a treatment as part of our customer care procedure.

  • We may also communicate by email or phone about a specific booking or in response to an enquiry via our website.

  • Where permission is obtained or a legitimate interest is evident – we may also send promotional e-mails about new products, new treatments, special offers or other information that we think you may find interesting using a valid e-mail address.


The  GDPR legislation concerns your rights. We will consider any right you wish to exercise and do our best to comply. These new rights fall into the following categories:

We will never sell or share your information with any other organisation for marketing purposes.  We will only share your information if we are required to do so by law or for our partners to provide services we cannot deliver inhouse, such mailing houses or IT specialists.  We only choose partners we can trust who abide by the requirements of the Data Protection Act.

The right to rectification – Correcting any information deemed incorrect
The right to erasure – Removal from database
The right to restrict processing – Permission to store but not to process data
The right to data portability - It allows you to move, copy or transfer personal data easily
